Red Tree Ministries

Music

If you are musically gifted and have a heart to use your gifts in the service of worship, we’d love to hear from you.

Interested in the Music Ministry?

Our desire for a “world music” approach involves a musical vocabulary that draws from varied instruments and styles. We also draw from the centuries old musical traditions within the Christian Church; in this way, we hope to represent the Church in space and time. Our music anticipates the day when people of every nation, tribe, and language are gathered in complete reconciliation. Lyrically, we are
committed to a rich gospel-centric theology in our worship. The liturgical framework of our services gives us the freedom to explore different styles of music within each section. The collection of psalms, hymns and songs that we lift up to the Lord in worship are the fruit of our endeavors toward a multi-cultural and reformed liturgy.

Want to Serve?

At Red Tree, we have a high view of music and the arts as a good gift from God.

From Sunday mornings, to special events and monthly jam sessions, we’re passionate for good and beautiful music!

If you are musically gifted and have a heart to use your gifts in the service of worship, we’d love to hear from you.

Emily Petterson

Director of Music

Meet Emily Petterson

Emily is originally from Mahwah, New Jersey, and moved to Florida to attend Palm Beach Atlantic University, where she earned a degree in Communications. During her time at PBA, she was a dual-sport athlete, competing on the women’s lacrosse team and throwing javelin for the Track & Field team.

In 2017, Emily joined the worship team at Spanish River Church in Boca Raton Florida, and quickly became deeply involved in the community. Over the next eight years, she faithfully served on the team, helped establish culture, and stepped into a staff role in the Worship & Arts Department.

Emily and her husband, Alec, were married in Delray Beach in December and soon after relocated to Detroit, Michigan. They have since settled in Ann Arbor and are excited to get plugged into their new community.

Music has always played a meaningful role in Emily’s life. She especially enjoys listening to Indie, Jazz, and Country, and that love for music fuels her passion for leading others in worship. Outside of music, she loves horseback riding, exploring new places, spending time with friends, and taking every opportunity to attend concerts.
